Hyderabad: A major accident was averted with the prompt action of an RTC bus driver, in stopping the bus, when he suffered a heart stroke while driving the vehicle near Kamanpur village  today. Driver Mahendra, while driving the bus, fell on the wheel after he suffered a stroke and managed to stop the vehicle. Alert passengers immediately shifted the driver to hospital.

The bus belonging to Godavarikhani depot,  was proceeding towards Secunderabad with 52 passengers from Godavarikhani. When the vehicle reached Kamanpur,  Mahender complained about pain in the chest, but  drove the vehicle as usual as he got relief from the pain. After driving the bus for four kilometers, he suddenly stopped the bus and fell on the steering. A doctor, who was also traveling in the bus, provided first aid to the  driver and shifted him to Peddapalli hospital. Later, he was shifted to Karimangar hospital for better treatment.

Bus conductor Rani thanked the passengers for saving the life of  the driver by immediately shifting him to hospital. A passenger, Chandrasekhar Rao, a Singareni worker, found fault with Peddapalli hospital authorities for not providing any treatment even after one hour of patient’s admission in the hospital.
