Education and Health Sectors Given Top Priority in Telangana, Says KTR

Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao said Education and Health have received top priority from the State government, with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao putting more emphasis on these sectors.

This includes the development of 26,000 government schools at a cost of Rs 7,500 crore through the Mana Ooru Mana Badi programme. The programme provides twelve types of basic facilities to schools.

Former law minister Chelmeda Ananda Rao’s family built Malkapet Government Primary School on Friday, which was inaugurated by the Minister on Saturday.

During the occasion, Rama Rao showed his appreciation towards Chelmeda Laxminarsimha Rao, Ananda Rao’s son, for constructing the school and completing it before its academic year began.

The Minister instructed Collector Anurag Jayanthi to take steps to run the school as an example to attract more philanthropists to develop schools.

Rama Rao said he had been inspired by Chelmeda Laxminarsimha Rao to build a school at his birthplace, Konapur, at a cost of Rs 2 crore, adding that another school would also be constructed in Kodurupaka.

Water, irrigation, electricity, and other industries have seen tremendous growth in Telangana. Through Mission Bhagiratha, the government has managed to provide safe drinking water to every house, which was unthinkable 75 years ago, he said.

Speaking of the various schemes being implemented for the welfare of farmers, the Minister said that Telangana was the only state in the country that provided 24 hours of quality power to the agriculture sector. In addition to Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, Kaleshwaram lift irrigation and other projects were constructed to supply water to farmlands.

He said the Collector has prepared the ground to distribute digital health cards to the people in the district as part of the digital health profile survey being conducted on a pilot basis. The Minister ordered the Health Department to conduct a camp in Konaraaopet mandal to provide health care to the people, and he urged the officials to do their best to place the district at the top in both education and health.
