Telangana Government Announces Holiday Calendar for 2023, Including Milad un Nabi

The Telangana government has issued its 2023 holiday calendar, which includes crucial dates for public holidays. Milad un Nabi, a prominent Islamic holiday marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, is one of these dates.

Milad un Nabi, also known as Eid Milad un Nabi or Mawlid al-Nabi, is a religious and cultural holiday for Muslims. This holiday is established as a government holiday in Telangana, allowing citizens to honor this important day.

In addition to Milad un Nabi, the Telangana holiday calendar for 2023 includes the following notable observances:

1. Arbayeen: Arbayeen marks the end of the mourning period for Imam Hussain, Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, who was martyred. This commemoration is scheduled for September 6, 2023, on the 20th day of the Islamic month of Safar.

2. Sri Krishna Astami: Also known as Janmashtami, this Hindu holiday commemorates Lord Krishna’s birth. It is observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. Sri Krishna Astami is set for September 7, 2023.

3. Vinayaka Chaturthi: Vinayaka Chaturthi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a Hindu festival honoring Lord Ganesha, the Hindu god of knowledge and prosperity. This event occurs on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. Vinayaka Chaturthi will be commemorated in Telangana on September 18, 2023.

These festivals are an important element of Telangana’s cultural and religious diversity, and they allow individuals of all religions to gather together and celebrate their traditions.

As previously stated, the date of Milad un Nabi is subject to change based on moon sightings, so Telangana residents are asked to stay up to date on any changes to the holiday calendar as the dates approach.
