Hyderabad’s SUFI Cancels Milad un Nabi Procession for Peace

The Sunni United Forum of India (SUFI) has decided to cancel their annual Milad un Nabi procession (peace rally), which takes place on the 12th day of the Hijri month of Rabi ul Awwal.

This decision was made in light of the upcoming Ganesh festival and immersion procession in Hyderabad on September 28.

The cancellation is intended to keep the city safe and to avoid any potential conflicts or disruptions caused by the simultaneous processions. The SUFI march is often attended by a huge number of people and consists of many smaller processions that congregate at various sites before culminating at Moghalpura.

This action displays Hyderabad’s dedication to communal tolerance and collaboration, underlining the need of peaceful coexistence during religious celebrations.
