With a view to stimulate ideas in a pleasant academic environment instead of beating the material into heads and finding out appropriate solutions for complex issues, a three day long ‘Ideathon-2023’ was organized today at Sridevi Women’s Engineering College, Gandipet that will continue till March 25.
The academic event was organised in collaboration with the Smartbridge and TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) working under the Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell Government of India and AICTE.
More than 500 students from second to final year, registered for the event ever since the poster and brochure was released on February 28, by the Vice Chairman Dr.K.Radhakishan Rao and Principal Dr. B.L.Malleswari.
According to Convenor of the event Dr.B.Narendra Kumar, the Ideathon-2023 consists of software and hardware divisions and has three distinct stages that will be held during three sessions.
First session about ‘Design thinking and idea pitching’ was held on March 4. Second session about ‘Theme wise technical boot camp’ has been conducted today that will go on for one more day on March 24 with a theme ‘Prototype and app development’ that will take place with mentor support. During this stage, the teams will implement the sketching and prototyping of ideation techniques to develop the proposed model.
“The students selected the problem statement among the 15 themes which were mentioned by Smart India Hackathon. Some of the themes are Smart automation, block chain, cyber security, robotics and drones,” he explained.
“Ten best teams among all will be selected and recommended to participate in national level ‘Smart India Hackathon-2023.’ Cash prizes will be given to the top three out of 10 teams. The awards ceremony will be conducted on March 25,” he elaborated.
The inaugural session was graced by the Principal JNTUH UCEM Dr.B.Vishnuvardhan while Guest of honour CEO e-cliqs consulting Muditha Jain, Director Academic Initiative – Smartbridge C.Yuktesh and Principal Dr.B.L.Malleswari rise to the occasion.
While encouraging the students, the chief guest Dr.B.Vishnuvardhan underlined the importance of passion and personal interest in a given task or subject that enables one to excel and succeed.
The guest of honour Muditha Jain said that students must have a burning desire to achieve goals while Yuktesh of Smartbridge shed a light over the three day long Ideathon event and emphasized that the education is the only factor for the students to save and secures the future.
Principal Dr.B.L.Malleswari said “The primary objective of organizing ‘Ideathon’ is to harness the innovative ideas and entrepreneurship potential of the young minds of our college which is in-line to the mandate of Startup India and New Education Policy 2020.
