Hyderabad: Care-taker ministers KT Rama Rao, Etala Rajender, P Mahender Reddy, MPs Kavitha and B Vinod Kumar and K Eshwar today expressed shock at RTC bus accident claiming 52 lives at Kondagattu in Jagitial district.
They made a visit to the accident spot and inspected the site and also the bodies. Later the ministers expressed sorrow at the incident and conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family members. Rajender and KT Rama Rao said that the government will provide the kin all succor by giving Rs 5 lakh exgratia. If the victims in the accident include any farmers, the government will provide them Rs 5 lakh insurance amount as per Rythu Bhima scheme, they said.
According to information, some 80 persons were travelling in the bus and the bus plunged into the valley by losing control leading to the accident. Driver Srinivas, who was reluctant to ride the bus in poor condition had to join the duty followed by directive of depot manager. Kavitha said the incident was most unfortunate. (NSS)
