Vijayawada:- Giving a clarion call that everyone should pledge to protect Gow Mata, the TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy on Monday appealed for the donation of Desi breeds of cows to TTD.
The TTD Trust Board Chief launched the Gudiko-Gomata program sponsored by the HDPP and SV Go-Samrakshanashala at Sri Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada along with AP Endowments Minister V Srinivas on Monday.
A pair of cow and calf were handed over to the temple authorities amidst chanting of Veda mantras and Mangala Vaidyams.
Speaking on the occasion the TTD Chairman said the cow occupied the place of mother and hence hailed as Gomata in Hindu Sanatana Dharma. The Puranic legends say that worship of Cows begets fruits of worship of all Gods. He appealed that everyone should swear to protect the cows in the country.
He said the Go Samrakshana program has been launched by the TTD board under the instructions of the Chief Minister of AP YS Jaganmohan Reddy. A detailed action plan is being prepared for implementing the program in Telangana Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamilnadu, he added.
The AP Endowment Minister Velampalli Srinivas lauded the unique Program of TTD as a trendsetter and that it should be supported by all.
Local MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Jogi Ramesh, K Parthasarathy, TTD JEO P Basant Kumar, HDPP secretary Acharya Rajagopalan, Kanaka Durga temple trust board president Somi Naidu, EO Suresh Babu were also present.
