Five youngsters die in dreadful road accident in Gachibowli

In a horrific incident, 4 youngsters died on the spot while the fifth sustained critical injuries and died later after meeting with a terrible road accident in the wee hours of Sunday.

The accident took place in the Wipro junction of Gachibowli in Hyderabad when the car carrying the 5 men collided with a speeding.

Roughly at 3 am, the car was progressing at a high speed toward the Gopanpally area when it reached the Wipro junction. It jumped the signal and took a sharp turn at its right without any indicator.

A video has been recovered from the CCTV cameras installed at the traffic signal’s pole that unfolded the incident.

As the traffic signal light turns red indicating the need to stop, a vehicle can be seen halting its engine while the car in question leaps on the right side, breaking the signal with high speed.

The truck, bearing number TS 05 UB 2451, approaching the straight road at a speed much higher than the limit is seen coming from Kokapet attempting to go on the IIIT side. However, the truck crashes into the car from its left side while dragging it on the road for some distance before turning over.

Moments after the accident, 2 bike riders can be seen stopping at the site to help the victims while cars pass by as onlookers.

The brutal accident took the lives of 4 of the passengers of the car immediately while another, been seriously injured, was admitted to a hospital. The survivor’s health condition was told to be critical and unfortunately passed away due to the wounds.

The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Katragadda Santosh working at Tech Mahindra, 23-year-old Chinta Manohar who was an animation designer, 23-year-old Nagisetty Roshan and 24-year-old Kolluru Pavan Kumar who worked at private companies and 20-year-old Pappu Bhardwaj.

The police said that all the 5 men were native of different regions in Andhra Pradesh and were here to work while staying at the Maruthi Men’s hostel in Madhapur’s Ayyappa Society. The driver of the tipper truck suffered minor injuries and survived the terrifying accident.

The Gachibowli police have registered a case following the incident and have started the probe to uncover more details. The bodies have been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for their post mortem.

This incident is the second of its time in recent times in the Cyberabad jurisdiction area due to jumping of traffic signals.
