Following a high voltage drama, Bandi Sanjay sent to 14 days custody in SSC paper leak case

Following a 12 hours of high voltage drama over the arrest of BJP Telangana Chief and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar in SSC board exam paper leak case, the saffron leader was finally sent to 14 days judicial custody today by the Hanamkonda Magistrate. Later, the police shifted Bandi Sanjay to Khammam Jail in heavy security arrangements. Apart from Bandi, three other accused also shifted to Khammam Jail.

After taking the BJP leader into custody on Tuesday night, the police produced him before Hanamkonda Magistrate today as A1 in the SSC paper leak case. The lawyers of the BJP Chief argued on behalf of him. The magistrate heard the contentions of both the sides and sent the BJP leader to judicial custody. While placing their contention, the lawyers of Bandi Sanjay argued that the arrest was illegal, hence the leader should be granted a bail. However, not convinced with their contention, the judge sent Bandi Sanjay to 14 days of judicial custody that will end on March 19.

While speaking to media persons in the day, the Commissioner Police Warangal Ranganath informed that the accused Prashant made the Tenth class Hindi paper viral against whom a case of malpractice was booked.

CP Ranganath said that A2 Prashant and Mahesh sent the question paper to A1 Bandi Sanjay at 11.24 am. Later, A2 sent the same to MLA Etela at about 10.41 am. Bandi Sanjay and Prashant had a chit chat a day before the paper was leaked and all happened according to their plan. Bandi Sanjay held a press meet soon after Prashant released the paper. The CP concluded that Sanjay did this with malicious intention.

Apart from A1 Bandi Sanjay and other accused, few more key witnesses have to be questioned in the case. According to Commissioner Police Ranganath both Bandi Sanjay and Prashant confessed to the crime during the investigation. “We haven’t found the mobile of Bandi Sanjay at the time of his arrest. More things will come out in the wash if we trace out the missing gadget.”
