Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campus in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu inaugurated Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campus in Hyderabad. While addressing the gathering, he said he is happy that the Central government has sanctioned Rs 2,600 crore special package which will generate 5-6 lakh jobs directly.

Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) here, Mr Prabhu said the special incentive package will be for human resource development in the sector, setting up of mega leather, footwear and accessories clusters, integrated development of leather sector, leather technology, innovation and environment protection, promotion of Indian brands overseas and others.

Thanking Telangana government for allotment of land for the Institute, he said the FDDI was set-up by the Ministry of commernce in the year 1986 for the development and promotion of footwear ands allied product industries.
