Former PM Deve Gowda Takes Rajya Sabha Oath

New Delhi: On Sunday Ex-Prime minister of India H.D. Deve Gowda took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha Upper House.

In the presence of M.venkaiah Naidu Chairman of Rajya sabha Upper house, The Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) Leader Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda took oath in Kannada Language.


Former Prime minister of India and JD-S supremo, H.D. Deve Gowda,87, was in June Elected unopposed to The Upper House Rajya sabha from Karnataka state with the support of the opposition Congress party on 12th June in the biennial elections which are held in Bengaluru for four seats that fell empty after the previous members of upper house terms termination 25 June.

However, 45 of the 61 New members of Rajya sabha Took oath on 22 July in Parliament House, JD-s leader Mr Gowda, could not go to the national Capital New Delhi then, as he was ailing and due to COVID-19-induced restrictions on Travelling for elder citizens amid Corona Pandemic.

H.D. Deve Gowda has set foot in Parliament house Rajya sabha for the second time, 24 years after he was appointed when He was The Prime minister of the country from 1996 June to 1997 April.

Meanwhile, Ranjan Gogoi former Chief Justice of India, Ambika Soni Congress leader, and Revati Ramn Singh Samajwadi Party leader be on the lookout for leave from Sunday’s session.

Due to some health problems, Congress leaders like Manmohan Singh Former Prime minister and P.chidambarm former finance ministers also seek to leave.
