Even as the state BJP leadership is busy with preparations for the June 2 national executive meeting, the party got a shocker on June 1. On Thursday, four BJP corporators in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation joined forces with the ruling TRS.
BJP corporators such as Banoth Sujatha Naik (Hastinapuram), P Archana Prakash (Rajendranagar), D Venkatesh (Jubilee Hills), and Sunitha Prakash Goud (Adikmet) from GHMC, as well as Tandur municipal floor leader Sindhuja Goud and councilor Asif, joined TRS in the presence of the party president KT Rama Rao. By presenting them with the pink scarf, he welcomed them into the party fold.
It has certainly been an embarrassment for the BJP to lose its four corporators less than 48 hours before its top leadership arrived in the city.
A meeting between Narendra Modi and GHMC BJP corporators in Delhi was recently held with the aim of motivating them for the next elections and asking them to serve.
