Four Gang Members Arrested for Rs. 60 Lakh Gold Coin Robbery in Hyderabad

On Tuesday, police nabbed four members of a nine-member gang for their roles in a robbery in which they stole 1700 grams of gold coins worth Rs. 60,00,000.Rahman Gafoor Athar, 30, of Sangli district in Maharashtra, Zakir Ghani Athar, 35, of Chikkadpally in Hyderabad, Praveen Yadav, 31, and Akash Arun Hovil, also 31, both of Sangli district in Maharashtra, have been detained.

The incident occurred on the morning of May 24 when five individuals posing as IT authorities entered a gold shop, according to a news release. They took the workers’ cellphones and 17 gold coins, each weighing 100 grams. As a result, they confined the workers in a room before fleeing. Following a report submitted by the shop’s manager, Anand Khedekar, on May 27, police launched an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of four people and the recovery of some of the stolen gold on Tuesday.
