Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Dr B. Rammohan has directed the officials to impose a penalty of Rs 15,000 each on G. Nagendra and V. Mohan Reddy for displaying unauthorized flexes and banners at the TRS Bhavan for which Rs 30,000 has been collected. He appealed to all the political parties and the public representatives to join hands with the GHMC in maintaining pollution-free city as per the directions of the State government.
The GHMC was strictly implementing ban on plastic bags below 50 microns and also flexes and the officials were inspecting various areas and penalizing the offenders with heavy penalties and this drive will be continuously taken up in all the circles and in the GHMC jurisdiction so far around Rs. 1.5 lakhs have been collected towards penalties from the traders from the last two days and collected 500 kgs above of plastic waste.
As per the directions of the Govt., by 2022 single use plastic will be completely banned basing on the directions of the Govt., the GHMC is strictly implementing the law. In this connection the Commissioner, GHMC appealed all the traders and citizens to take the responsibility to ban single use plastic to make the city pollution free.
Similarly the Commissioner,GHMC has also appealed all the political parties and the public representatives to kindly cooperate with the GHMC by not erecting the banners. (NSS)
