Hyderabad: Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH) is the flagship program of the Chief Minister, Telangana State to increase the Green Cover, Aesthetic value, control the pollution and temperature. GHMC is taking up tree plantation under various categories like Avenue Plantations, Colony Plantations, Institutional Plantations, Open Space Plantations, Graveyard Plantations and Distribution of Homestead Plants etc.,
During 2016-17, as against the target of 81 Lakhs plantation, GHMC had successfully taken up 84.91 Lakhs including free distribution of plants to public under homestead plantation. . Out of which 2.11 Lakhs planting are done in Open spaces, Institutions, Grave Yards, Avenue Plantation, Lakes etc., and protecting them through contract system and their survival is 91%.
During 2017-18 a target of 76 Lakhs has been achieved as against the target of 100 lakhs, including planting and homestead plants distribution to the households, as per their preferred species. Out of which GHMC has planted 3.53 Lakhs in Institutions Open Spaces, Lakes, Green Ways, Green Curtains and protecting them through contract system and the Survival having 93%.
TELANGANA KU HARITHA HARAM -2018-19
The Govt. has given a target of 40 Lakhs for the year 2018-19, for which an action plan have been prepared. It is proposed to planting by GHMC and 35.00 lakhs plants for distribution of Homestead plants.
Departmental plantation: (890) No. of Sites were selected as per action plan for (5) Lakhs plantings in Open Spaces, Avenue Plantation, Institutions, Lakes, Grave Yards etc.,
Distribution of Species: (35) Lakhs of seedlings have been proposed Zone wise to distribute as desired species which includes Aromatic, Herbal, Flowering, Ornamental, Shade etc for free of cost., as per public survey.
Nurseries: (40) lakh seedlings are raised in (32) No. of Nurseries with in GHMC Jurisdictions. (60) no. of varieties are raised & the total information has kept in Green Hyderabad website i.e., Details of Nurseries, Species & Contact Person & Mobile numbers.
CSR Donations Request: The interested Agencies/Persons may contribute for Raising & adaptation of plants of selected locations, stretches, Institutional plantations etc., and also providing tree guards for safe guard of Avenue plantations, watering vehicles.
