Government sets a target Rs 3 lakh crore in IT, provides 10 lakh new jobs: KTR

IT and Industries Minister, KT Rama Rao today stated that the government sets a target of Rs 3 lakh crore in IT and ITES exports and provides 10 lakh new jobs in the coming five years.

The minister claimed that due to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s vision and policy state achieved about Rs 2.72 lakhs per capita income against the national average of about Rs 1.40 lakhs.

The IT Minister launched the second ICT Policy 2021-26 in the presence of NASSCOM Chairperson Rekha M Menon, Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad Joel Reifman & HoDs of ITE&C Dept here.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the second ICT Policy Minister KT Rama Rao stated that Telangana was the fourth largest contributor to the country’s economy, according to the “Handbook of Statistics on the Indian Economy 2020-21” released by the RBI.

Top five world major companies started their business in Hyderabad and we offered IT training to 5 lakh persons to serve the people at the rural level, he said. We will collaborate with the top companies to develop the state in a planned manner.

During the last year, Telangana recorded phenomenal growth in the IT/ITeS sector with a rate of 12.98 as total IT/ITeS Exports stood at ₹1,45,522 Crores. Telangana’s growth rate is more than double the average national growth rate.

Through the Digital Telangana initiative, the Government has been able to make the digital world more accessible for the citizens. Over 3000 public wi-fi access points have been established in Hyderabad and are now expanding to other cities.

The Minister said that Telangana has seen the highest annual growth rate in IT/ ITeS exports in the last 5 years in the country. It also created over 2.5 lakh jobs in the IT sector during this period bringing its several marquee investors.
