Governor talks to Modi on States’ issues

Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed with him on Telangana and Andhra Pradesh issues. The meeting gets importance as Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao already met with Modi and sought his assistance for state projects. In addition to seeking all help from the Centre to several flagship programs and schemes in Telangana, Narasimhan has reportedly sought Modi’s initiative for president approval by amendment for new zonal system, 12 per cent quota for STs and Muslim Minorities as being sought by the state government. In addition to having a word on the recently held Governors’ meeting, the Governor reportedly stressed the need for speedy bifurcation of high court and also the assets under 9 and 10 schedules.

According to information the Governor is understood to have explained about the present situations in two Telugu States and sought speedy implementation of promises as per bifurcation act. Narasimhan also met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and apprised him of law and order situation and present political scenario in the two states and sought steps for implementation of bifurcation act.
