Govt Checks Omicron, release Arogyasri bills: Harish Rao

Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the government will take steps for the timely release of Arogyasri bills in the hospitals across the state. He also said that the government is taking all steps to check the spread of Omicron, the third variant of Coronavirus.

Speaking to presspersons after launching an operation theater and ICU facility at Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital (DDH) here, the Health Minister said that we honor the high court and its directions on controlling Omicron cases. We have to receive the order copies from the court and bring them to the notice of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take necessary action.

Harish Rao said that the Centre is yet to take a decision on booster dose and vaccine for children. While some foreign countries are considering the booster dose. The court instructed the government to take steps to prevent huge gatherings during festivals and put curbs.

The government is fully equipped with medicines, beds, vaccines, and health staff across the state.

The High Court said that the government has to take all steps to check Omicron spread in the state. The Court instructed the government and officials to follow the Central government to check the spread of the virus and put a tab on social gatherings like festivals, programs, Christmas, New Year gatherings and Sankranthi and others.

 On this, the Minister said that they have to receive the Court verdict on the same. On receiving the Court directions and going through the government will make a decision to control mass gatherings and festivals to avoid virus spread. The government, he said, is responsible to take all steps to check the virus spread and providing health services to the poor and people. He appreciated Megha Company for supplying oxygen and Rs 18 cr worth of medical equipment to NIMS. We will try to expand Ayushman Bharat to DDH, he said.
