The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a series of new initiatives to improve the experience of pilgrims during Haj, focusing on the role of the Grand Mosque Library, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
Recognized as one of the most important libraries in the Islamic world, the Grand Mosque Library contains a vast collection of religious texts, rare manuscripts, and scholarly resources in multiple languages covering various fields of knowledge.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the presidency, described the library as a key cultural and educational institution. He emphasized its role in spreading religious knowledge, promoting Islamic heritage, and encouraging a message of moderation across the globe.

Al-Sudais said the library remains a valuable space not only for researchers and students of Islamic studies but also for everyday visitors to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. “The presidency is committed to advancing the library’s scientific and intellectual mission during Hajj and sharing it worldwide,” he said.
To that end, the presidency has introduced a series of specialized programs and initiatives this Haj season. These include expanded cultural and academic activities, tailored services for pilgrims and researchers, and increased global accessibility to the library’s rich content.
These efforts reflect the presidency’s broader goal to elevate the Haj experience by merging spirituality with learning and intellectual enrichment.
