Gruhalakshmi scheme to be launched by Telangana Govt by June end

Finance Minister T Harish Rao stated that the Gruhalakshmi scheme would be launched by the end of June.

The Gruhalakshmi scheme was designed to give homeless people Rs 3 lakh to help them build a house on their own land. Speaking at a menstrual hygiene awareness program in Potharam village in Dubbaka on Wednesday, the Minister said the Telangana government will also begin distributing nutrition kits to 6.8 lakh pregnant women across the state in June.

The Minister, who expressed his displeasure with Asha workers and health department staff for distributing NCD kits to only 261 patients out of 450 in Potharam village, demanded that the kits be distributed to all diabetes and BP patients without any delay.

The Minister also encouraged the women to take advantage of the Arogya Mahila scheme by visiting a hospital in Thimmapur. Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was present, as was Zilla Parishad chairperson V Roja Sharma and others.

Earlier, Harish Rao presented a cheque worth Rs 2 lakh to a TRS worker’s family at Narayanraopet. Speaking on the occasion, he has said 47 families benefited from the party membership insurance in the Siddipet constituency alone.

Phase II of Sheep Distribution Scheme to be kickstarted on June 5

The second phase of the Sheep Distribution Scheme will begin on June 5 in Telangana as part of the 21-day Telangana State Formation Day celebrations, which begin on June 2. While Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will formally launch the program in Nalgonda district, sheep units will be distributed throughout the state by Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs.

During the first phase, 3.93 lakh sheep units, each consisting of 20 sheep and one ram, were distributed to Golla Kuruma community members who qualified. Approximately 3.5 lakh families will benefit from the second phase.

Srinivas Yadav, who reviewed the sheep distribution arrangements on Tuesday, directed Animal Husbandry department officials to notify elected representatives ahead of time and make appropriate arrangements to ensure their participation.
