Guntur BRS office vandalized hours after inauguration

Unidentified individuals tore down flexi boards and removed party flags outside the new Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) State office in Guntur during the night of Sunday and Monday, less than 24 hours after it was inaugurated. A complaint was filed with the police, who launched an investigation.

The BRS State office was inaugurated on Sunday at around 11.35 a.m. by its Andhra Pradesh president Thota Chandrasekhar in a five-story building near AS Function Hall on the Mangalagiri road in Guntur.

On the occasion, Chandrasekhar was fierce in his criticism of all opposition parties. Members of the party suspect that members of rival parties may have resorted to such an attack because they were unable to digest the remarks made by Chandrasekhar and also the response being received by the party in Andhra Pradesh.

On Monday onwards, the BRS AP office was set to commence operations from the five-storeyed building next in Autonagar area. The first floor of the building houses a conference hall for meetings with party activists, followed by administration offices on the second and third floors. The fifth floor now houses the Andhra Pradesh State President’s office, which includes a guest room, a conference hall, and a personal office. It also has approximately 16 guest rooms for party leaders.

The BRS leaders intend to boost party strength in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the upcoming Assembly and Parliament elections next year. A membership drive will also begin soon.
