Ahead of the Haj season, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has launched a multilingual awareness kit to guide and safeguard pilgrims during their spiritual journey. The health tips kit is available in eight languages, including Urdu, Arabic, English, French, Persian, Indonesian, Malay, and Turkish, aiming to reach a global audience of pilgrims.
The initiative, announced by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), is part of the Kingdom’s effort to ensure public health and safety during the annual pilgrimage. The kit provides essential advice on preventing heat exhaustion—a common concern during Haj. Pilgrims are advised to use umbrellas, avoid direct sun exposure, and stay well-hydrated.
To make the content easily accessible and shareable, the kit includes videos, social media posts, and printable materials. It also highlights the importance of vaccinations for diseases such as meningococcal meningitis, COVID-19, poliomyelitis, and yellow fever based on the pilgrim’s country of origin.

Health authorities further advise pilgrims with chronic illnesses to carry medical documentation and adequate supplies of their prescribed medications in original packaging. Routine vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, polio, chickenpox, and mumps are also recommended.
This initiative is a part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing public health efforts during Haj, ensuring that pilgrims are well-informed and prepared.
