The India-Pakistan match of Sunday did not go well with many people, including some cricketers. A fun Twitter conversation soon transformed into a full-fledged fight after Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh and former Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Amir exchanged a slurry of vengeful tweets.
The heated argument started as Amir posted a tweet after Pakistan’s win against India. The first tweet was shared late on Tuesday night and the Twitter fight continued till the early hours of Wednesday.
In his post, Amir made fun of Harbhajan over India’s 10-wicket loss to Pakistan. “Hello everyone woh pochna yeah tha @harbhajan_singh paa ji ne TV to ni tora apna koi ni hota hai end of the day its a game of cricket,” his tweet read.
Harbhajan responded to the October 25th tweet with a video dating back to 2010. The clip showed him hitting runs that eventually helped India win the Asia Cup that year against Pakistan- more so as Amir was the bowler then.
It did not end there as Amir replied with another video of a 2006 match where Harbhajan’s bowling was met with Shahid Afridi’s 4 consecutive sixes in Lahore.
This tweet, somehow, was not received with the same light-heartedness as earlier by Harbhajan. He reacted sharply, rather digging Amir’s past scandal of spot-fixing in 2010. Harbhajan went on to suddenly say “shame on you” for allegedly disrespecting the purity of the game. “Lords mai no ball kaise ho gya tha ?? Kitna liya kisne diya ? Test cricket hai no ball kaise ho sakta hai ? Shame on u and ur other supporters for disgracing this beautiful game,” the Indian cricketer said, which roughly translated to English means- How was there a no-ball at Lord’s? (The stadium) How much did you take, who paid you? How can there be a no-ball in test cricket?

While Amir responded with a tongue in cheek phrase, Harbhajan went ahead to post more tweets over the former’s scandal, stressing on the money aspect.
“For people like you @iamamirofficial only Paisa paisa paisa paisa .. na izzat na kuch aur sirf paisa..bataoge nahi apne desh walo ko aur supporters ko k kitna mila tha .. get lost I feel yuk talking to people like you for insulting this game and making people fool with ur acts,” the Indian bowler wrote.
Amir had a strong comeback as he slammed Harbhajan for his “illegal bowling action”, referring to the Indian player’s bowling emerging in a suspect action case.
“Bare hi dheet ho talking about my past wouldn’t change the fact that tumko 3 din pehle moun ki khani pari. and how about your illegal bowling action mate ab nikal or humko WC win karta dekh. walk over tu nhi mila jao Park me walk karo you will feel better @harbhajan_singh,” Amir wrote.
The two continued another set of tweets before the fire finally died down.
