Heavy Downpour Forecasted in Hyderabad Between Oct 5 to 7, Yellow Alert Issued

Beginning on Wednesday, the city will experience moderate rainfall for the next three days. The Indian Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H) forecast issued a yellow alert on Tuesday, warning people to be on the lookout.

However, mild to moderate showers are expected to take place in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

A particular zone-by-zone forecast said that from October 4 to 8, the weather in Hyderabad city was predicted to be generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers, with isolated periods of heavy rain possible.

Tuesday’s maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are expected to be 30 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Meanwhile, the IMD predicts that Telangana will experience heavy rain beginning Wednesday. For the next five days, the state has been placed on yellow alert.

The districts most likely to experience heavy rain on October 5 include Rangareddy, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, and Nagarkurnool.

Thunderstorms and lightning are extremely likely in many Telangana districts’ isolated areas.

On October 6, heavy rain is expected in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, and Siddipet. Thunderstorms and lightning are extremely likely in these districts’ isolated areas.

Last Wednesday saw another round of heavy rain in several parts of the city, with Hayatnagar mandal bearing the brunt of the downpour.

According to the automatic weather stations, it rained five centimeters in a large number of localities around Hayatnagar, L.B. Nagar, and parts of Saroornagar.

The thundershower began around 6 p.m. and lasted about an hour, creating a deluge-like situation on several stretches of road in the area. Vehicles were stranded on the national highway for an extended period of time, forcing commuters to seek alternate routes to their destinations, which were still heavily congested.
