Heavy rain hits Hyderabad overnight

On Monday night, Hyderabad experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, indicating the start of the monsoon season. Heavy rains were reported overnight throughout several localities in the city, including Hayathnagar, Uppal, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, and Saidabad.

Among the other locations, Kapra has received the most rainfall at 89.8mm, followed by Alwal at 56.0mm. Rains were moderate in Hayathnagar, Sarooornagar, and Kukatpally as well. During the next three days, the Telangana State Development Planning Society expects to see light to moderate rain in the city.

During the daytime, the temperature in the city is expected to reach 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, while the night time temperatures will drop to 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Hyderabad is forecast to experience cloudy skies throughout the day, as well as light showers, according to Indian Meteorological Department.

In addition to Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Kamareddy, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla and Jagtial, heavy rainfall was also reported in several other districts. The highest rainfall was experienced in Rajampet in Kamareddy on Monday, with 97.5 millimetres. The State’s monsoon forecast, which predicts heavy rains in a few districts, has been issued for the next three days. Almost all districts in the state have received a yellow alert, which means ‘be alert’ An Yellow alert or ‘be alert’ warning has been issued to districts including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Suryapet, Warangal, Jangaon, Siddipet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts.

There will be isolated rain showers and light to moderate thunderstorms over the next few days in the twin cities, reported the report. The maximum temperatures are expected to range from 34-36 degrees C, while the minimum temperatures will range from 24 to 26 degrees C.
