High Court Asks Govt to Take Permanent Decision on Ganesh Idol Immersion in Hussain Sagar Lake

The Telangana High Court has asked the State government to take a permanent decision on the immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussain Sagar Lake.

A division bench comprising the chief justice of the state Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B.Vijaysen Reddy has passed this order while dealing with a petition filed by advocate Venu Madhav.

Arguing the case, the advocate told the HC that the state government had not permitted the immersion of the idols in the lake last year by citing the spread of the covid virus.

Responding to this, the HC asked the state government if it was giving permission to immerse the idols in the lake this year.

It asked the state government to take a decision on the issue by taking into consideration the intensity of the virus.

It said that it was not good to take instant decisions on the issue every year. It said that the lake should be kept clean and pollution-free by the state government.

It later adjourned the case till August 11.
