High Court Directs Govt to File Counters in Central Cadre Officials’ Row

Telangana High Court today heard a petition related to the controversial allocation of postings of 13 IAS and IPS officials in the State.

The court directed the government to give its version on the allocation of the IAS and the IPS officials. The court heard about the case of allocation of the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, ACB chief, and in-charge DGP Anjani Kumar and other Central cadre officials.

The court sought a clarification from the State government on a case filed by Abhishek Mahanthi, ASP of Chittoor district. CAT directed the AP government to relieve him and also instructed the Telangana government to give Mahanthy a posting as per procedures.

On this, the tribunal also issued contempt of court notices to Somesh Kumar and asked him to appear on February 25. The court denied inquiry on Mohanty and directed the government to file counters on the same.
