Hyderabad: In a major house burglary, unidentified persons made away with a huge amount of jewellery and cash, reportedly running into a few crores, from the house of a businessman in Banjara Hills on Monday night.
According to a complaint lodged with the Banjara Hills police by a realtor Uttam Kumar Reddy, a close relative of senior Congress leader T Subbarami Reddy, they noticed the property missing from the house on Tuesday morning and informed the police. The Banjara Hills police registered a case and plunged into action. The CLUES team visited the scene of offence and pressed a sniffer dog, which reportedly moved around the house premises but did not come out. The police have formed special teams to crack the case.
The police examined CC footages and found a rotund man wearing a mask moving in the building Flat No 91 on Road No 2 Banjara Hills. The police concluded that the robber, who roamed in the house for two hours, might have sneaked into the house rear gate. Realtor Uttam Reddy (T Subbarami Reddy’s elder brother’s son) and five members of the family smelt something wrong and entered the bed room and were shocked to find that valuable diamond and gold jewels missing and immediately lodged the complaint to police.
Shocked with the robbery occurring in a house in the high security zone, the police took it as a prestige issue. The police plunged into action and secured incriminating evidence from CC footage in the area. Police opined that the robber could enter the house as sensory security system was switched off. The police are interrogating Uttam Reddy’s family members, domestic workers and employees. (NSS)
