Hyderabad: 18 arrested as Police conduct raids on Tequila Pub at Ramgopalpet

At midnight on Saturday, Hyderabad police raided Tequila Pub at Ramgopalpet and arrested 18 people who had been partying at the premises late into the night. Participants included 8 dancing girls, 8 customers, the DJ operator, and the organizer.

The sound system and the pub were seized by police. The police raided the pub after getting a tip-off that a party was being organized outside the permitted hours.

The organizers of the pub are operating beyond the specified timings, according to reports. A case has been filed at Ramgopalpet.

Reports indicated that G. Vijayakumar Goud of Bowenpally has been operating the club for a significant number of years without taking any permission. Nalini Reddy is the Managing Director, N. Ravi is the Accountant, Saida Zareen and B. Harikrishna are the DJs, and B. Prakash is the Cashier. Previously, two cases have been reported at the pub.

The Police Commissioner Hyderabad C V Anand on Monday transferred the Inspector of Ramgopalpet police station, for his alleged negligence, a day after task force police raided a pub in Secunderabad for obscene dancing.

In light of the alleged negligence by the local police, the police commissioner Hyderabad transferred Inspector Ramgopalpet police Shiga saidulu and attached him to the police commissioner’s office. The post has been handed over to Detective Inspector Gaddam Kashi.

Online cricket betting racket busted

A betting racket for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches was busted by the Cyberabad Police on Sunday. There was a police raid on two flats located in two different places in Miyapur and Bachupalli.

After receiving a tip-off from reliable sources, the Madhapur SOT raided the apartments. During a raid conducted late on Sunday, police seized Rs 10 lakh in cash and arrested 3 individuals in Bachupalli and 2 in Miyapur. The organizer, Bhimavaram Varma, is however on the run.

A bookie ran a betting ring on IPL from a flat in Gudimalkarpur in April and was arrested.
