The Hyderabad Traffic Police had previously announced that vehicular traffic would be stopped at all traffic junctions, including those with signals and manned by traffic police personnel, at 11.30 a.m. on August 16 due to a mass national anthem singing program scheduled at that time.

The event was organized as part of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence celebrations. The event was attended by ministers, members of parliament, state legislators, other public representatives, political leaders, and officials from across the state.

The program was attended by people at various traffic intersections, offices, educational institutions, shopping malls, and other public places. For the mass recital, people gathered in gramme panchayats, urban local bodies, and other locations.
