Hyderabad City Commissioner urged police to stay alert

The Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, CV Anand, has instructed police officers to remain on high alert and to prevent any attempt by vested interests to incite communal trouble in the city.

On Wednesday, he directed officials to keep an eye on communal issues and deal with them tactfully at a meeting attended by ACP and above rank officers.

In light of the current scenario, there is a necessity to increase the monitoring of various political and communal groups. Officers should be prepared and react quickly to avoid trouble, Anand said.

The meeting also discussed how to ensure effective policing in the city and how to assign responsibilities to the ground level officers. Bandobast for the upcoming Assembly meeting and festivals was also discussed during the meeting.

CV Anand visits Central Crime Station

On 21st February, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand paid a visit to the Hyderabad Central Crime Station to assess the cases under investigation.

In a meeting with officials, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely investigation and disposal of cases in order to reduce pendency. He felt there was an urgent need for a more efficient investigation of narcotics cases. The department would train a few police officers from each station on how to effectively investigate narcotics cases.

“The rise in cybercrime and economic offences must be effectively addressed by reorganizing our crime control and investigation tactics. Tools and technologies should be extensively used to track down and apprehend suspects,” he said, instructing senior officials that CCS personnel should not be assigned other duties unless absolutely necessary, and assuring them that the CCS will be given due importance in the allocation of resources and vehicles.
