Congress party Corporator from Lingojiguda division of GHMC Darpelly Rajasekhar was sworn in as the Corporator today.
The Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi administered the oath on the Corporator. The newly appointed president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) A. Revanth Reddy took part in the event. Reddy later congratulated the newly elected corporator on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth said that the State capital Hyderabad was the heart of Telangana state. He said that there would be development in the state only if the city was kept clean. He alleged that all kinds of taxes were increased in the corporation limits.

He also alleged that the rulers of the corporation had kept their promise to take up Rs. 800 crore worth of flood prevention works. He said that tanks and stormwater drains were encroached upon in the city.
He demanded the corporation authorities put up CCTV cameras at all important points of the city to prevent the encroachment of the nalas and tanks while alleging that the cameras are not being put up to benefit some people in the government.
He alleged that Musi river revitalization works on a namesake basis. Reddy said that he would soon visit all catchments areas of Musi river.
