Hyderabad: Formula E development activities underway

The HMDA stated that the NTR Marg will be ready to hold a trial race on November 10, ahead of the Formula E Grand Prix event on February 11, next year. The road is being prepared for Formula E standards at a rapid pace.

According to an official, the HMDA will spend ‘1 crore to make both sides of NTR Marg race-ready. The event on November 10 will be open to the public.

In addition, following the facelift of Tank Bund earlier this year, HMDA has planned the completion and upgrading of several projects on the roads surrounding Hussain Sagar, mostly in time for the Formula E race.

As per official sources, about 90 percent of construction work on the Secretariat is complete. According to sources, work on the Rs 650-crore seven-story structure with a built-up area of seven lakh square feet will be completed soon.

The Martyrs Memorial is 80 percent complete. The memorial, designed in the shape of a ‘lamp with light,’ is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

A 15-foot statue of Telangana activist and freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji. The HMDA will spend Rs 30 lakh to install the statue and construct the pedestal with steps for easy access to the statue as well as the development of greenery in the surrounding area.

There has been some progress on the Rs 15 crore Lakefront Park between Jalavihar and PV Ghat, which was first proposed in 2018.

The work was delayed, according to authorities, because the architect was late in submitting designs.

Elevated walkways underpasses, a pedestrian stretch, three-meter wide walks, a water channel deck, a glass deck, and lakeside over-water body structures will be included. There will also be a children’s play area, seating pergolas, and illuminated light sculptures.

The PV Gnana Bhoomi would get a facelift for Rs 44.24 lakh. In June, a 26-feet-tall statue of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao was unveiled. Authorities said a night bazaar on the banks of Hussainsagar would be ready by the end of the year.
