As Hyderabad prepares for the Lok Sabha elections, the city is abuzz with anticipation. With 75 candidates vying for the attention of over 45.91 lakh voters, this election is poised to be a significant event in the city’s political landscape.
Under the watchful eyes of election authorities, citizens will exercise their democratic right to choose their representatives on Monday. Ahead of the polls, polling officers from various parts of the city gathered at the Distribution and Reception Centres (DRCs) to collect their polling material, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
With police protection, these officers ensured that the equipment was set up at their respective polling stations well before the voting commenced at 7 am.

To facilitate voting, offices, educational institutions, banks, and businesses remain closed for the day. However, concerns linger about low voter turnout due to the long weekend, prompting election authorities to encourage citizens to cast their votes through various outreach efforts.
In a last-minute push, the Election Commission of India (ECI) sent bulk messages to citizens, urging them to participate in the democratic process. The messages, sent in Telugu, Hindi, and English, emphasized the importance of voting and provided links for voting-related information.
Over the past two months, Hyderabad witnessed a flurry of election-related activities, with thousands of election officials working tirelessly to ensure smooth conduct, and political parties and candidates engaging in extensive campaigning efforts.
