Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident from Hyderabad, a man brutally attacked a married woman with an axe after she refused his proposal to live with him. The 30-year-old man was already on bail for having harassed the victim previously as he was determined to take revenge following his bail.
The appalling incident took place in Teacher’s colony, Meerpet on Wednesday evening. The accused has been identified as Cheruku Rahul Goud, who was released on bail after being in judicial remand, police said.
The entire episode was caught on the CCTV footage which showed the victim carrying an infant in her arms and conversing with another woman near her house gate. Goud can be seen coming on his bike, parking it near her house, and running to attack the victim with an axe.

In the video, the victim is seen trying to defend herself by blocking the attack with her hand, while the infant remained in her arms the whole time. She then rushes inside her home following which, Goud escapes the spot hurriedly.
The Meerpet police said that she suffered injuries in her right shoulder, right elbow, and right palm that was used for defense. The victim was immediately taken to a private hospital for attending to her wounds. Currently, her condition is told to be stable.
On the complaint of the victim’s husband, Bollepally Ravi Kumar, the Meerpet police got into action and lodged a case under the attempt of murder against Goud. They formed teams to get hold of the accused and caught him on Wednesday morning.

ACP Vanasthalipuram, K.Purushotham Reddy, said that the accused who is currently under arrest had been consistently calling the victim on her phone, urging her to stay with him. He became acquainted with her through a family friend who also gave him the victim’s number.
Recently, the victim and her husband had filed a complaint against him in Meerpet Police station after the accused reached her house and threatened to defame her infront of the husband. The couple had warned Goud against his actions after which they informed the police.
