In an alleged case of cheating suspicion, a man brutally killed his wife in the city in the early hours of Wednesday. The murder took place in the couple’s home where their children were present too, unaware of the monstrosity unravelled by their father.
The incident occurred in Tappachabutra of Hyderabad’s old city area. It all started after Srinivas, the accused, began suspecting his wife of cheating on him and having a bad character. The daily wage labour used to live with his wife and two children in Markandaiah Nagar that falls within the Tappachabutra police station limits.
As per the relatives of the family, the duo often used to fight over 40-year old’s character as Srinivas remained sceptical of her actions. A similar quarrel broke out between the two when son Vishnu tried to put out the fire of the 45-year old’s anger.
However, Srinivas was adamant about believing his suspicions and proceeded to murder his wife the next day. He woke up on Wednesday morning and killed the woman with a big stone they had at home. He crushed her face with the stone and she had died by the time she was brought to the hospital.

Narrating the sequence of events that led to the murder, Tappachabutra Inspector Santosh Kumar said, “On Wednesday morning, Srinivas woke up and took a big stone that was in the house, and dropped it on his wife’s head. She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital by her daughter. Doctors pronounced her dead.”
A case has been registered in the matter and the police is investigating further details while also trying to catch Srinivas. He has been on the run since the murder.
The woman’s body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary and will be sent for postmortem.
In a separate incident, a man killed his wife whom he had married less than a month back. The husband suspected her of having an illicit relationship with his father, which progressed to his final crime. He slit the 22-year old’s throat with a vegetable knife after one heated argument and later attempted to kill himself the same way.
The incident was brought to light after the woman’s parents came to visit the couple the same afternoon. After repeated knocks and calls when the duo did not open the door, they took the help of neighbours and broke the door. The parents found their daughter lying in a pool of blood and the son-in-law in an unconscious state in the bathroom.
He was rushed to the hospital while the body was taken for post mortem.
