UP Boy Brutally Murders Sister To Avoid Gang Rape Charges

Uttar Pradesh has reported a new case of murder from the hands of a brother. As per reports, a boy recently murdered his sister to dismiss the charges of gang rape against him.

Murder Accused Tried To Mislead Police

As per the Uttar Pradesh Police, the boy who killed his sister already has a gang rape case registered against him. To avoid the charges of gang rape he killed his sister. But eventually got trapped in the case.

The police said that the accused started crying loudly when he saw his sister’s body in front of him. The police claim that this was an act to gain sympathy and mislead the police from their investigation.

The accused further blamed his rivals for murdering his sister and gave their names to the police. However, when the police started the investigation, the CCTV camera install across the place and the phone call records helped in catching the actual murderer.

Police also found the cab that the murder accused used to kill sister. Reports claim that the crime was committed on a forest road with not too much rush between Noida-Amroha road. The murder accused first hit the girl over the head with a brick. Later he strangled his sister to death.

As per the reports, the police caught the murderer of the deceased girl within 36 hours of the incident.

The deceased girl was working at a private bank and was an MBA student. More details regarding the case are yet to be released.

NCRB Records Paint a Frightening Picture of Crime in Uttar Pradesh

Earlier this year, the National Crime Records Bureau released a report regarding the crime rate in Uttar Pradesh. The report claimed that in every two hours, the state police receives a case of rape. And crime against children is reported in every 90 minutes in UP>

In 2018, a total of 4,322 cases of rape were registered with the police, report suggests. And almost 12 cases happened daily. The state also recorded a total of 59,445 crimes against women in UP back in 2018. These numbers rose by 7 percent from 2017.

In the report, Lucknow topped in the 19 cities reporting the highest number of crime cases against women. There were 2,736 cases reported in 2018. Similarly, at least 55 cases were reportedly every day regarding crimes against children from a total of 19,936 crimes.

In 2018, the state also saw a surge in cybercrimes. Around 6280 crime cases were reported in 2018 which was more than 26 percent than previous year.

However, the UP police has rejected the claims made by the report. They said that the rape cases have instead come down by 7 percent since 2017. Meanwhile, DGP O.P Singh said that the crime figures in the reports should take care of the population in the state.

He said that Uttar Pradesh has the largest population in India and it is only natural for the crime rates to be higher. However, Singh claimed that they have takes measures to keep the crime rate in check.
