Hyderabad Monsoon Preparedness: High-Level Meeting Held at TGiCCC

As the monsoon season approaches Telangana, a high-level preparedness meeting was convened at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) in Banjara Hills. The meeting was chaired by TGiCCC Director VB Kamalasan Reddy and brought together key officials from various departments to assess the city’s readiness and develop a coordinated disaster response strategy.

Senior representatives from the Hyderabad Collectorate, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Fire Services, HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Awareness Association), Telangana State Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Medical & Health Department, India Meteorological Department (IMD), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), and the Police Commissionerates of Cyberabad and Rachakonda participated in the session. The meeting was conducted under the guidance of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand.

A central focus of the meeting was the 141 waterlogging hotspots identified within GHMC limits. Officials reviewed flood monitoring protocols, plans for power restoration during intense rainfall, and strategies to divert floodwaters safely into designated nalas.

In addition, discussions were held on the identification and necessary intervention for dilapidated structures, the mitigation of monsoon-related diseases, and the deployment of Aapada Mitra volunteers and NGOs to provide emergency services across the city.

The meeting emphasized proactive disaster management, aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during the upcoming monsoon season.
