Hyderabad: More than 100 complaints received by SHE team in September

In Cyberabad, 11 SHE Teams are working to ensure the safety of women and children.

SHE Teams keep an eye out for troublemakers who disrupt public spaces, engage in online and offline harassment, and provide assistance to women who are victims of various forms of abuse.

During the month of September, 102 complaints from female victims were received through various channels, including Whatsapp, email, Hawk eye, direct walk-in, and so on. Three child marriages were halted and their parents were counseled, according to a press release.

According to reports, there have been 27 cases filed, 19 of which are minor cases and 8 of which are criminal cases. 570 decoy operations were carried out in various locations such as bus stops, shopping malls, train stations, tutorials, and colleges.

16 members were caught performing indecent acts in public while they were unaware of it. Three minor cases were booked, and the rest of the people were referred to counseling.

A total of 39 members were caught engaging in inappropriate behavior late at night, and 38 complaints were filed. There were 332 awareness campaigns, and 18922 people received assistance.32 petitions received phone warnings to change their ways.

Approximately 93 responders attended counseling sessions at Cyberabad’s Women and Children Safety Wing. The Cyberabad SHE teams held a counseling session at the Commissioner’s office in Gachibowli for all respondents and their families.

Cases of sexual harassment

In a case from Hayathnagar, a hostel warden named Murram Krishna, 35, was arrested for sexually harassing minor boys at the hostel.

In another case of sexual harassment at work in Kachiguda, a 30-year-old woman working in a Pharma company filed a complaint with the SHE teams and a Petty Case under Section 70 (C) of the City Police Act, which deals with indecent acts in a public place. She requested that the accused be counseled.
