Hyderabad police bust fake certificates rackets, 11 arrested

During a joint operation between the Special Operation Team, Madhapur Zone, and KPHB Police, 11 members of a gang were arrested on Friday.

It was suspected that the gang was involved in the preparation and procurement of fake certificates for degrees, PGs, BTech, SSCs, and intermediates.

Among the fake certificates that the interstate gang prepared were 18 certificates from 13 states and certificates from 18 universities. Among the items seized by the police were fake education certificates, recommendation letters, seals stamps, logos, ATM cards, Aadhaar numbers, and mobile phones.

Police arrest four after overseas education aspirant lodges complaint

Recently the Chaitanyapuri police and the LB Nagar Special Operations Team, in a joint operation, nabbed a gang allegedly preparing fake educational certificates to satisfy visa requirements for overseas education or employment.

A software engineer, a mediator, and agents were part of the organized gang at Chaitanyapuri.

The incident was reported by a Kothapet resident seeking to study abroad who contacted the police and said he had been provided with fake and forged certificates. When he paid them *1 lakh towards visa processing, SL Overseas Educational Consultancy provided him with a set of certificates and a recommendation letter.

The investigation led to the arrest of four people – V. Rohit Kumar, who prepared certificates using Adobe software, V. Srinivasa Rao, who brought ‘client’ orders, Sirisala Lakshmi from the consultancy and G Sai Pranay, who did not complete graduation and obtained fake certificates from Kakatiya University by paying Rs.80,000 for the privilege.

During the raids, the police found over 100 certificates of various types, fake rubber stamps, and non-judicial stamp papers. There are charges against all of the accused under IPC sections related to cheating, forgery, and using forged documents as genuine.
