Hyderabad: Student commits suicide after teacher punishes her

A student from class eight committed suicide on Thursday in Hayathnagar on the outskirts of the city after being punished by her teacher in front of her classmates for not doing her homework.

In the morning, Akshaya was asked to kneel outside the classroom by the teacher for not doing her homework. The family members of Akshaya said that the situation made her upset and that she felt humiliated in front of her classmates.

In the absence of her parents, the minor girl hung herself from the bedroom ceiling fan after returning home. Upon finding her hanging, her parents rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The victim’s family protested, alleging negligence on the part of the teacher and school administration in her death.

Hayathnagar police are looking into the matter. There was also no suicide note. The police have opened an investigation into a case of unnatural death under Section 174 of the CrPC.

Nine-year-old student commits suicide in Begumpet

In another tragic incident, a 9-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide at Begumpet because she disliked going to school.

According to the police, the class 5 student at a private school skipped classes for six days. Geeta, the girl’s mother, worked as a maid in nearby homes. After Geeta left for work, the victim hanged herself. As he watched his sister take such a drastic measure, the deceased’s 6-year-old brother began to cry.

Neighbors rushed to help when they heard the boy crying. However, when they arrived at the house, they discovered the girl hanging from the ceiling. The deceased’s body was immediately brought down. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

The deceased was then taken to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors performed an autopsy on her and returned her body to her mother. The police have opened an investigation and have registered a case.
