In a major push to electrify Hyderabad, Varcas-Ryoto Electrix has set an ambitious goal of establishing 25,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the city. The initiative is aimed at empowering small businesses to participate in the growing EV ecosystem by offering an affordable solution for setting up charging stations for two and three-wheelers.
The company has introduced a cost-effective model that allows small businesses to set up EV charging stations for as low as Rs 11,000. From general stores to tyre repair centers, these businesses can now serve as charging hubs, providing an opportunity to earn up to Rs 5,000 per month.
Sandeep Ralhan, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Varcas-Ryoto Electrix, highlighted that their primary focus is on developing robust EV infrastructure in the city rather than selling electric vehicles. During a press conference held on Tuesday, Ralhan emphasized that all that is required for installation is a three-phase electricity connection and sufficient parking space. The charging stations will operate 24/7, supported by a custom-built app called E-Volt, which will facilitate the operation and management of the charging points.

Ralhan also noted that this initiative will not only contribute to the environment by promoting EV adoption but will also provide an additional revenue stream for small businesses across Hyderabad. As the city gears up to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles, this initiative is expected to play a crucial role in providing widespread access to charging infrastructure.
The push for EV infrastructure coincides with the 6th Green Vehicle Expo, which will be held from December 12 to 14 at Hitex. The expo will showcase electric and hybrid vehicles, along with batteries, spare parts, and related technologies. In addition, the 4th India Green Energy Expo will focus on renewable energy solutions, including solar, wind, and biomass technologies.
With the rise in EV adoption and an increasing emphasis on sustainable transportation, Varcas-Ryoto Electrix’s initiative could significantly ease the transition to electric mobility for Hyderabad’s residents and businesses. The company’s target of 25,000 charging stations in the next year aligns with the city’s broader goal of becoming a leader in green energy and sustainable urban development.
