Hyderabad to Host 7th International Kite Festival with Global Flair

Hyderabad is abuzz with excitement as it prepares to host the 7th International Kite Festival, a vibrant celebration coinciding with the traditional Sankranti festival. Organized by the state’s tourism, language, and culture department, the three-day event will begin on January 13 at the iconic Parade Grounds, promising a colorful spectacle for residents and visitors alike.

The festival will feature 50 expert kite flyers from across the globe, representing countries such as Indonesia, Switzerland, Australia, Sri Lanka, Canada, Cambodia, Scotland, Thailand, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Italy, Taiwan, South Africa, and the Netherlands. Adding to the festive spirit, 60 skilled athletes from various Indian states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, will also participate, showcasing a dynamic mix of international and domestic talent.

Each day of the festival will be packed with stunning kite shows, running from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where participants will demonstrate their expertise in kite flying and artistry. Visitors can look forward to an array of kites in all shapes, sizes, and colors adorning the skies, creating a visual treat that celebrates creativity and skill.
