“Hyderabad to Host TUWJF’s 1st National Conference”

The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF) is playing a vital role in preserving and advancing Urdu journalism in India. Despite facing challenges such as government indifference and a decline in public support, Urdu journalism remains resilient, fighting for its survival.

The 2016-founded Federation strives to strengthen the stature of Urdu journalism, shine light on its challenges, and develop workable solutions to these problems. It acts as a unifying force for supporters of Urdu journalism who persevere under trying situations. The Federation has run a number of initiatives and training sessions over the past six years to give Urdu journalists a platform and give them the tools they need to succeed in the rapidly changing field of media. Through these programs, respected decision-makers have imparted their knowledge and experience.

Numerous organizations, institutions, and individuals are actively involved in the preservation and promotion of Urdu language and journalism. The Federation acknowledges and respects its contributions to this cause.

On May 28 in Hyderabad, the Federation will be holding a one-day national conference that will bring united Urdu journalists from different cities, districts, and states. The event has had over 300 online registrations, and 700 attendees are expected.

Academics, thinkers, lawmakers, journalists, and public figures will all speak at the conference, giving a forum for discussion of the difficulties Urdu journalists face. These topics will be discussed in resolutions that are put forth.

Distinguished attendees include State Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Vemula Prashant Reddy, Telangana Congress President & MP A Revanth Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Professor Ainul Hasan, former Supreme Court Judge Justice B Sudarshan Reddy, Director General of Police Telangana Anjani Kumar, Professor Padmaja Shah, MLA Ahmed Balala, and several other prominent leaders.

This conference marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to uplift and empower Urdu journalism, ensuring its continued relevance and contribution to society.
