As per the latest reports, vehicle owners in Hyderabad paid a whopping Rs. 10.5 lakh for a fancy registration number.
With the vehicle owners’ craze for fancy registration numbers in Hyderabad, the transport department had gathered a large sum of money. Celebrities and prominent businessmen are looking for fancy numbers for their vehicles and are willing to spend a lot of money to get them. On Wednesday, the RTA office in Khairatabad staged a fancy number auction, and the transportation department collected an unexpected sum of money.

For a total of Rs.10,49,999, Giridhari Constructions purchased the number TS09FU9999. Anantaiah, on the other hand, purchased TS09FV0009 number for Rs. 3,50,005, followed by TS 09 FV 0001 number for Rs. 3,50,000 Rajor Gaming Pvt. Ltd, TS09FV0005 for Rs.2,20,000 by Chemistry Pharma Consultancy, TS 09 FV 0007 for Rs 1,15,000 by Juka Power Pvt, TS 09 FV 0006 for Rs.1,10,111 PMK Distillation Pvt Ltd.
A sum of Rs 30,83,986 was raised through the auction, according to Panduranga Nayak, Joint Transport Commissioner of Hyderabad District, Department of Transport.
This isn’t the first time the transportation department has seen a craze for fancy numbers. Vehicle owners frequently exhibit a strong desire to obtain the numbers surrounding people’s date of birth, astrologically significant numbers, and other auspicious numbers associated with their names, lucky numbers to a few, and some who rely on Numerology.
In 2021, Keystone Infra paid Rs 20.10 lakh for the number TS09 FT 9999 during an online auction of fancy numbers.

At the time, Panduranga Nayak said that the auctioning of fancy numbers fetched Rs 46,14,824 to the transport department.
