Hyderabad’s Makkah Masjid: Increased Security Measures

Security has been increased near Hyderabad’s Makkah Masjid ahead of Friday prayers to prevent any potential demonstrations or unrest. The additional security measures are in response to recent violence in Haryana and the assassination of a Hyderabad native, Syed Saifuddin, along with two other passengers aboard a train by a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable.

Syed Saifuddin was laid to rest the day before in Hamilapur, near Bidar, Karnataka. He was slain on Monday, and his body was taken in an ambulance from Bhagvati Hospital in Borivili to his birthplace of Bidar on August 2.

Saifuddin worked as a mobile technician in Gujarati Galli at a tiny shop. His wife and three daughters survive him, the youngest of whom is only six months old.

Given the recent string of occurrences, officials in Hyderabad have taken precautionary measures to safeguard the safety and security of the region surrounding the Makkah Masjid.
