If TRS stifles Hindu festivities, we will immerse Ganesh at Pragathi Bhavan: Bandi Sanjay

The TRS-led state government, according to Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, is blocking immersion activities for Ganesh Chaturthi in the name of Supreme Court orders.

Should the government block Hindu festivities, Ganesh immersion will be conducted in Pragathi Bhavan rather than the tank bund at the necklace road, he warned state chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

“In the old city, Ramzan was celebrated even during the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn’t opposed by us. We did not resist the distribution of badam and pista as well,” he said.

“The BJP will conduct Ganesh immersion activity at Pragathi Bhavan instead of the tank bund if the TRS government tries to stop it,” Sanjay warned the chief minister.

The city’s mayor, Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, announced on Saturday that around 10,000 sanitation workers along with 280 cranes and 100 swimmers with boats will be employed for the Ganesh immersion on September 9.

Ganesh Immersion was reviewed by the city mayor, who directed the Zonal Commissioners, police, TSSPDCL, HMWS&SB, and other departments to make all necessary arrangements.

In accordance with the Mayor’s instructions, 25 sanitation workers should be stationed every 3 to 4km, and 14 volunteers will work each crane for 24 hours in three shifts.

Bandi Sanjay to launch fourth phase of padyatra

The fourth phase of Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s Praja Sangrama Yatra will be launched next week in a bid to keep pressure on the TRS government.

On September 12, Sanjay will begin his padyatra from Quthbullapur, near Hyderabad. On September 22, the walkathon will end at Pedda Amberpet, Ibrahimpatnam.

During the 10-day padayatra, he will cover an area of 115.3 km around the state capital by visiting nine Assembly constituencies. The party announced that he will take a break on September 17 so that he can attend the Telangana Liberation Day public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, which will be addressed by union home minister Amit Shah.
