Jalpally municipality rolls out ‘Mega Health Camp’ in Osman Nagar

In order to protect people from water borne diseases like Dengue and Malaria that are reportedly increasing in colonies abutting Burhankhan Lake in Jalpally area, the municipality officials today rolled out a ‘mega health camp’ at Ward No.7 dubbed as Osman Nagar.

The municipality officials led the team of doctors and paramedical staff from the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) to affected areas like Osman Nagar where the medical champ was set up to treat the people with symptoms of water borne diseases.

The team of medics that include a Doctor, three nurses and 3 Aasha workers carry out check-ups of the people who approached the camp with symptoms of seasonal ailments. “We carried out check-ups to a total 174 people today and distributed free medicines to help dosedown the impact of seasonal diseases. Blood samples of four people were sent to testing after finding the symptoms of seasonal diseases,” informed a member of the medical team.

“The mega medical camp will continue to operate for four days. First two days the camp will operate in Ward No. 7 and then move on to Ward No. 9 before culmination. The primary aim behind organizing the mega health camp is to help the local people get diagnosed with seasonal diseases,” informed G.P. Kumar, Commissioner Jalpally Municipality.

Following the report of an NGO that seasonal diseases like Dengue and Malaria are swelling in areas abutting Burhankhan Lake, the Municipality official carried out a special sanitary drive Yesterday and held a medical camp today to arrest the spread of seasonal contagions.

In a fervent appeal to the people of areas abutting the water body, the Commissioner G.P. Kumar said “People of all ages should avail the opportunity and get diagnosed without a cost that helps them fend off the seasonal and water borne diseases.”

Chairman Jalpally Municipality Abdallah Saadi and Councillor Ward No. 7 Mohammed Mazhar besides Municipality staff presented the occasion.
