Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills checkpost station on the Ameerpet-Hitec City Metro Rail route will be opened for passengers on Saturday. There are eight stations on this route, including Taruni-Madhura Nagar, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills Road No 5, Jubilee Hills checkpost, Peddammagudi, Madhapur, Durgam Cheruvu and Hitec City stations.
With this, commuters from and to Film Nagar, Journalists Colony, Nandagiri Hills, Taraka Rama Nagar, Deen Dayal Nagar, Gayatri Hills and other colonies around JH Check Post and KBR Park and other areas of Banjara Hills nearer to the Check Post will have easy access to the Metro Rail services, HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy said. Everyday about 2.60 lakh people are taking the Metro rail and availing of the facility in the twin cities he said.
When the route was opened on March 20, five stations were thrown open for passengers while two others — Peddammagudi and Madhapur stations — were opened later. The Jubilee Hills checkpost happens to be the only remaining Metro station in the 56km operational corridor of Miyapur-LB Nagar and Nagole-Hitec City and the same is to be made available for passengers from Saturday.
