Kabul Airport Gets Chaotic as US Reportedly Prioritises American Embassy Staff; Afghans Desperate to Leave

As the Taliban takes over the Afghan capital city, Kabul, US Troops were (reportedly) forced to fire warning shots at the Hamid Karzai International Airport to prevent the crowds of desperate citizens running towards the board planes.

Videos Of Crowd Goes Viral Over Social Media

An official speaking to the media said that the crowd was out of control as they were running towards the airplane. And the gunshots were only to defuse the chaos. Videos that went viral over the social media had the sounds of gunshots being fired. The desperate scenes included the crowds rushing towards the jets and clambering the staircases.

Furthermore, the US troops are in charge at the airport. They were reportedly prioritizing the evacuation of the staff from the American Embassy on military flights. However, the US earlier said that they had already evacuated the embassy staff.

There is chaos and confusion at the Kabul airport as thousands of Afghanistan netizens are trying to catch flights out of Afghanistan. A witness talking to the media said that they feel “very scared” there (at the airport). They said that the US troops are firing a lot of shots into the air.

Videos Show 2 People Falling Off The Plane Mid-Air In Kabul International Airport

In one of the many videos that surfaced online showed two people falling off the aircraft mid-air and some were reportedly seen over the aircraft wings. Locals near the Kabul International Airport informed the local media that they had seen men hiding around the wheels and then falling off near their houses.

Another video showed many people running towards the aircraft and desperately trying to get themselves over the aircraft’s body in a bid to leave the country. Meanwhile, a 25 years old ex-soldier informed the media that they are very scared to live in the country.

“Since I served in the army, the Taliban would definitely target me,” he said.
